Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. Slightly paler in color than its peers, the Corton-Grancey Grand Cru ‘11 has quite a conservative bouquet with earthy tones, the stem addition becoming increasingly conspicuous as it opens up. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins and a slightly meaty finish with dried blood on the aftertaste. This never quite takes off as it threatens.
